How to build your own room divider

To turn a large room like restaurant dining room, hospital, hotels, etc become many small rooms, you can use divider, made from mirror, fabric, wood, wicker, etc.

Below is a simple tip to improve / build your own room divider from the old one.

Directions

  1. Sand surface of screen to smooth any previous finish or paint. Wipe off dust with tack cloth. Apply primer ; let dry.
  2. Apply a base coat of lightest paint color to screen and frame; let dry.
  3. Paint interior of panels with the medium shade of paint; let dry.
  4. To determine size of wallpaper insets, measure interior panels and substrate 4 to 5 inches from length and width to allow for borders all around. Using a straightedge and pencil, mark these dimensions on the wallpaper, using paperweights to hold paper down as you measure and mark. Cut out wall paper insets.
  5. Using a foam brush apply adhesive to back of each wallpaper panel and center on each panel of screen, smoothing out any wrinkles.
  6. As a final touch, apply painter’s tape about ½ inch from inside of frame around inset all around. Apply the darkest shade of paint to this ½ – inch outer border, let dry; remove tape.

  1. Unfinished or used folding screen.
  2. 180-grit sandpaper.
  3. Tack cloth.
  4. Paintbrushes.
  5. Primer.
  6. Paint in three colors.
  7. Wallpaper.
  8. Metal yardstick.
  9. Pencil.
  10. Paperweights.
  11. Scissor.
  12. Foam brush.
  13. Liquid adhesive or all-in-one sealer.
  14. Painter’s tape.
